A Fertility Success Story
(Woman's World)
A fertility center is only as good as its staff and facilities. We are very pleased that many highly skilled, caring clinical and lab staff are a part of our team. To read about our reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Sam Wood, click here.

The nursing staff was carefully selected for their nursing and interpersonal skills.
Angela Scroop, B.S., our IVF Coordinator, has almost 8 years experience in providing care for those with infertility. Her outstanding organizational skills allow her to coordinate even the most complex patient treatment plans with apparent ease. Her dedication to this field and her caring for those with infertility is perhaps best exemplified by the fact that she has served as both an egg donor and gestational surrogate. This "personal experience" with the medications, fertility treatment protocols and procedures used to treat infertility have given her a great empathy for those undergoing such treatment.
Noelle Workman, our Fertility Care Specialist, has extensive experience in the care of infertility patients and plays an important role in the coordination of treatment cycles. Since joining us in 1999, she has proven particularly adept at assisting on diagnostic procedures. Naturally a very caring person, Noelle has an uncommon ability to understand and provide support during the emotionally charged process of infertility treatment.
The success of the ART laboratory is, of course, based on the staff who combine skill, experience, and dedication with state-of-the-art equipment to provide consistently good outcomes for our patients. The following are our senior staff members.
Catharine Adams, our ART Laboratory and Scientific Director, holds a Ph.D. in Mammalian Embryology from one of the most prestigious universities in the world, University of Cambridge (UK), where she performed her research on blastocyst development. Since 1985, when she began her career in IVF, she has, among other distinctions, that of being the embryologist for the second successful frozen embryo transfer in the United States 15 years ago. Dr. Adams is one of the first fully certified High Complexity Laboratory Directors (HCLD) in the U.S. Although very skilled technically, she is also well known in the infertility community for her ability and willingness to communicate complex embryologic concepts to patients.
Linda Anderson, our Senior Embryologist, has over 20 years experience in IVF, prenatal diagnosis, and cytogenetics. This broad range of technical experience makes her uniquely qualified to perform our preimplantation genetic diagnosis testing and analysis. After receiving a B.A. in zoology from San Diego State University, she completed graduate work in genetics and biochemistry there. Before joining Reproductive Sciences Center, she held positions at Children's Hospital, UCSD School of Medicine, and was Laboratory Supervisor at the Alvarado Hospital IVF program.
Dr. Adams and Ms. Anderson were among the first in this country to become nationally certified Reproductive Cryogenic Specialists. Both are perfectionistic in their work and are actively involved in a comprehensive quality assurance program. Both have been selected by CAP to inspect other ART laboratories seeking accreditation.
