RSMC’s STATE-OF-THE-ART LAB
When it comes to finding the best partner for your fertility needs, the on-site laboratory is more important than you may think ‒ and it is almost as important as the doctors and staff providing the care. And while many centers specializing in infertility offers its own lab, the quality of that lab can vary dramatically. RSMC’s San Diego based on-site fertility laboratory allows us to the benefit of consistent care and controlled environment in which to successfully grow embryos. Having the lab on site eliminates the risk of transport from facility to facility.
Beyond the equipment, one of the most critical aspects of a successful in vitro fertilization (IVF) program is a well-run lab. RSMC employs an on-site, full-time Laboratory Director. With over 20 years of experience in IVF, Dr. Catharine Adams one of the most skilled specialists in IVF lab techniques in the region. In our state-of-the-art facility, Dr. Adams and her team perform end-to-end IVF lab work on-site including highly complex procedures such as PGS (Preimplantation Genetic Screening) – a technique that detects chromosome abnormalities in embryos – and Blastocyst Transfer – a technique that virtually eliminates the possibility of triplets or higher-order multiple pregnancies.
Our lab is fully-accredited and inspected annually by the College of American Pathologists, as well as the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
